pg sch Plakat JugendOn 2 and 3 July 2022 it will be that time again: we will celebrate our traditional parish festival "Around the Church Tower". We invite all people to celebrate with us in joyful fellowship, to maintain acquaintances or to make new ones. With a varied programme on both days, everyone, young and old, will find something to entertain them. This is an important date for families to experience together.

The festival opens on Saturday at 19:00 with a pre-evening mass in Schattertriesch with music by the "St. Marien" church choir. On Saturday evening, the JuGoDi and the altar servers will organise the "Jesus Christ's Paradise Party" in the parish hall from 8:00 pm. Dear fellow citizens of the municipality of Schmelz.

As is now known through the media and also spread in the social networks, there is an increased flow of refugees from the Ukrainian population due to the difficult and very bad war situation in Ukraine.
In the meantime, many mothers have arrived with their children in our community, who are accommodated in private flats and in flats of the community of Schmelz.

In order to ensure a very good supply of food and hygiene articles, the "GUTE ZWECK LADEN" was set up at short notice in Schmelz, Hoher Staden 13 (next to the Scherer kitchen studio).
There, a team from Ukraine Hilfe Schmelz-Saarland, led by Christiane Görgen and Elke Oehlenschläger, will provide the refugees with everything they need to live free of charge and without bureaucracy.
Household items, clothing for women and children will also be available here.

The opening will take place on Saturday, 2 April 2022, from 2 pm.
